How do I register to bid?

Visit www.TDonlineauctions.com, click the register button at the top right corner, fill out the information and click complete registration.  It’s that simple, you are ready to start bidding!

What does it mean by “starts to close”?

Our online auctions have a staggered closing meaning that the first two lots close at the specified time, then the next two lots close one minute later and so on until all lots have closed.  Should a bid be placed within the last two minutes of a lot’s ending time, the ending time will automatically be extended to two minutes from the time that bid is placed. The timer will continue to extend in the same manner until the bidding activity has stopped. An item closes when the timer on the lot hits zero. The winning bidder of an item is the last Bidder the bid history recorded before the timer hits zero.

What is a maximum proxy bid?

You can enter the highest amount that you are willing to bid.  The system will automatically place a bid on your behalf for the lowest amount possible up to your maximum bid using an incremental bidding system. This allows you to remain the highest bidder for the online auction and your proxy bid will remain confidential to all parties, including Transitional Design.

Can I view the items prior to bidding?

Yes, you can come to our location during our store hours to view the items prior to placing a bid.  The hours are Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, and Saturday 10:00 am – 5:00 pm and Wednesday 10:00 am -7:00 pm  We are closed on Sunday.

How do I pay for my items?

You will receive an invoice the evening of the online auction closing.  On that invoice, there will be a link you can click to pay online with a credit card. The credit card on file will be charged the morning following the auction closing. Please note that all payments must be received prior to the end of the scheduled pick up.

When is the pick up?

The pickup times are listed on the main page of each online auction.  Our online auction items are picked up at our Broadview Heights location each Wednesday between 2:00 p.m. and 7:00 pm and each Saturday between 11am and 4pm.  If you are unable to make the pick up due to an emergency, please pay online before the end of the pick up.

Will anyone be available to help me load my items?

We will have movers available as a courtesy to assist you with moving and loading your items on Wednesdays from 2-7pm.  If you are unable to make that pickup time, please bring your own assistance should you need it.  Please bring any necessary boxes and packing materials.

Auction FAQ’s

How do I register to bid?

Please visit auctions.transitionaldesign.net and click on register in the top right-hand corner.  Complete the information, accept the terms and conditions and you are ready to go!  You can also opt in to receive our newsletter which will alert you when we have a new auction listed.

Can I preview the items in person?

Absolutely!  You can preview the items any time during our business hours.  In the description of the auction lot there is a location listed and we have all the locations posted at our facility.  If you need assistance locating an item, we are happy to help!

How do I place a bid on an item?

To place a bid on an item, you must first be a registered bidder and be logged into your account. Click on the item that you wish to bid on, put the dollar amount that you wish to bid in the box. Please note that you can enter a max bid.  You will only be charged that max amount if the item is bid up to that price.  Otherwise, you will pay the next bidding increment of the previous bid. If you have the high bid you will see a notice on the screen. If someone has placed a higher max bid, you will see a notice that you have been outbid. You always have the option to raise your bid.

Why was the bidding time extended?

If a bid is entered in the last 2 minutes of the lot closing, then the time will be extended by 2 minutes to ensure sufficient time for bidders to submit their bids. This will continue until no bids are placed within the last 2 minutes.

What is a “buyer’s premium”?

A buyer’s premium is a percentage added to the winning bid and is payable as part of the total purchase price to the auctioneer. Sales tax is not applicable to the buyer’s premium.

How do I pay for my purchase?

You will receive an invoice after the conclusion of the auction, generally within 2 hours, via email. Your credit card on file will automatically be billed.  If you receive an email saying your card was declined, you will be able to pay in person or over the phone using Mastercard, Visa, Discover, check, or cash. All invoices must be paid by the Wednesday after the end of the auction.

Where do I pick up my winning items?

Most of our online auction items are housed at our facility at 601 Towpath Rd., Broadview Heights, OH 44147.  You will pick up your items at the back of the building in unit H.  We occasionally have online auctions from a customer’s residence, which will be noted in the auction description.  In that case, the winning bidder will be notified of the address when they receive their invoice.  For those types of auctions, the winning bidder will need to pick up their item at that location and during the pickup window.

What are the pickup hours, and will someone be available to help me load my items?

Our pickup times are Wednesdays from 2-7 pm and Saturdays from 11 am-4 pm.  On Wednesdays we will have two movers to load your vehicle with large items.  On Saturdays, we do not have movers onsite.   If you are unable to pick up during those times, you may come during our business hours (M-F from 10am-5pm).  Please note, we will have NO loading assistance outside of the above scheduled pickup times.   We do offer delivery for a fee.
